The Polk County cemetery burial listings are presented In Memory of Mr. Bernie Gissler, who was chairman of the Osceola Centennial Committee. The extraction of the cemetery burial listings are from the "Polk County Heritage" book, pages 245 to 322. The book was published by the Osceola Centennial Committee, Bernie Gissler, Chairman, in 1975. Approval to include the listings was granted by Mrs. Bernie Gissler in memory of her husband and other committee members.

The Polk County Heritage book contains the following acknowledgement: A thank you to the people who contribute their family history. They realize the importance of preserving a different facet of our history - the family life. A 'tip of the hat' to the Osceola Lions for their work in collecting cemetery records, and to some of the cemetery boards. Typists: Mrs. Linda Anderson, Mrs. Jane Roberts, Mrs. Ruth Lux, Mrs. Lana Flodman, and Mrs. Jackie Johansen.

A thanks to Roxanne and Evelyn Gissler for their "jack-of-all-trades" role; recording names and dates from headstones in the cemeteries under adverse conditions (and drippy noses from walking in cold and windy weather last winter), sorting and alphabetizing names, typing, and proof reading.
